RESOLVED: Conversations access issue December 9, 2022

Dear Digication Community,

UPDATE - This issue has now been fully resolved.

The Conversations icon on ePortfolios was not being displayed for all users that should have access. This issue impacted users who shared their ePortfolios within their institution or publicly and were expecting anyone that is logged in to be able to use the conversations feature on their ePortfolios. This is a rare use case for our community, but some users were impacted by this bug.

This bug was introduced on October 28, 2022 during a previous upgrade of the Conversations feature. 

During this time, for users who had shared their ePortfolios with specific individuals or course-groups, conversations were working as expected. This is the typical use case for conversations, so for most of our users this issue was not noticeable.

Our team investigated the issue and resolved the bug at 2:21am Eastern time on December 12, 2022. For future upgrades of the Conversations feature, this use case will also be addressed, so this issue will not occur again.
