- Prompt modules and instructions sections are helpful tools when building templates.
- They assist faculty members in guiding students' work.
Prompt Modules
- Prompt modules provide placeholders and short prompts where students can add the appropriate work.
- To add a Prompt module, click “Add Content” (1).
- Click “Prompt” (2).
- Add instructions (3).
- Select or customize a response type (4).
- Response types allow you to define the kind(s) of work students can produce in response to a prompt (5).
- You can have students upload images, record audio or video, or enter text, among other options.
- Selecting “Customize” (6) allows you to customize the possible response types precisely.
- Click “Save” (7)
- The Prompt module will be added (8).
- When “Add Content” in the Prompt module is clicked, the Prompt module is replaced by the module type needed to address the prompt.
- Prompt instructions remain on the page.
Edit a Prompt Module
- Click “Settings” (9).
- Expand “Prompt builder” (10).
- Click “Edit” (11).
- Edit the module’s instructions or type.
- To edit the prompt module’s appearance, please see “Style and customization.”
Instructions Sections
- Instructions sections allow faculty members to provide additional instructions, learning content, and materials to students on the page.
- They are visible while editing but do not appear in the work’s published version.
- Create the section for instructions.
- Click "Context Menu" (1).
- Click “Settings” (2).
- Expand “Section options” (3).
- Toggle on “Turn section into instructions” (4).
- Unlock (5) an instructions section to edit it.
