The ePortfolio Organizer is a useful tool which can be accessed in Edit mode. It allows you to arrange sections and modules within your ePortfolio, and to copy content between ePortfolios.
Accessing the Organizer
The Organizer can be accessed by navigating to the ePortfolio menu in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and selecting Organize (1) from the menu.
Split Screen Format
Upon entering the Organizer, you will see the split screen format, which you will use to copy content between pages. The view of your current ePortfolio will move to the left-side of the screen and will zoom out so you can see more of your ePortfolio while arranging your sections and modules.
The right side of the screen is for viewing and interacting with a secondary page, which can either be in the same ePortfolio or in a separate ePortfolio. By having two pages on screen at the same time, you have the ability to style and arrange them simultaneously, as well as drag and drop content between the two. Upon first opening the organizer, the right-side of the screen will contain two options: Show Another ePortfolio (1), Show Current ePortfolio (2).
Capabilities of the split-screen interface include:
- Organizing Sections/Modules on a Single Page
- Copying a module or section from one ePortfolio to another
- Copying pages from one ePortfolio to another
- Duplicating a module or section within an ePortfolio
- Duplicating a page within an ePortfolio
Organizing Sections/Modules on a Single Page
You can change the order in which your sections and modules appear on a single page by selecting a section and using the Organizer Up or Down buttons(1) to move the section's position. Modules can be moved up or down from one section to another using the Organizer Up or Down buttons (2), or can be positioned within the section by clicking the Move button (3) and dragging.
Please Note: The Organizer will not allow you to move or copy the header section.
Modules can also be resized by clicking the lower-right corner of a module(4) and dragging the module outline to your desired size.
Organizing Content Between Pages
Copying a Module from One ePortfolio to Another
Open your Organizer and select Show Another ePortfolio (1).
You will be prompted to Select an ePortfolio and will be given a selection of available ePortfolios (2). If you do not see the ePortfolio you would like to use, type the title of the ePortfolio into the Search field (3).
Once you have found the correct ePortfolio, navigate to the page you wish to work with.
To copy a module from your current ePortfolio to the secondary ePortfolio, first click within the module, and then select the directional arrow button (4).
Drag the module to the right side of the screen. You will see a blue outline (5) to help you position the module, along with the notification Drop to make a copy.. Once dragged to a space where it will fit, the module will appear on the secondary page (6)
Please note: Using drag and drop on a module, section, or page will not remove it from the original ePortfolio. A duplicate version will be created in the secondary ePortfolio.
Additionally: Comments belong to the specific context of the ePortfolio in which they are created; therefore, comments created using the Conversations tool will remain in the original ePortfolio, but will not be copied to the secondary ePortfolio along with a module, section, or page.
If you would like to delete the original module after it has been copied to the secondary ePortfolio, you can do so by clicking the module and then selecting the Trash Can icon (7). You will be prompted to type delete to confirm that you wish to delete the module.
Copying a Section from One Page to Another
To copy a section, first look for the Organizer buttons at the top, right-hand corner of the section. Click the directional arrow button (1), and then drag the section to your secondary ePortfolio.
Drop the section when it is in the desired position on your secondary page. A duplicate version will appear.
Copying a Page/Pages from One ePortfolio to Another
After opening the Organizer and choosing your secondary ePortfolio page, click the toggle at the top of the Organizer (1) to switch from Content to Page.
In Page mode, you will see the page-level structure of the two ePortfolios.
By clicking and holding a page, you can drag it to the other side of the screen and place it into the secondary ePortfolio.
If the page has subpages, they will be copied to the secondary ePortfolio along with the parent page. If you do not want to include the sub-pages in the secondary ePortfolio, you can remove them with the trashcan icon (2).
Duplicating Content within an ePortfolio
The Organizer can be used to display two versions of the same ePortfolio. This allows you to easily duplicate a module or section from one page to another, or to duplicate an entire page within your ePortfolio. For these tasks, you will begin by opening the Organizer and selecting Show Current ePortfolio (1).
Duplicating a Module or Section within an ePortfolio
On the right side, navigate to the page where you would like to place the section or module (1) Click and hold the directional arrow button (2) on the section or module you would like to duplicate.
Drag the module to the right side of the screen. You will see a blue outline (3) to help you position the module. Once dragged to a space where it will fit, the module will be copied to the secondary page (4). You can then adjust the size and move it to the desired position.
Duplicating a Page Within an ePortfolio

Your Changes Will Be Saved As You Work
Anytime you move a section or module in your ePortfolio or copy content between two ePortfolios, after a few moments of inactivity, you should see a message at the top of your ePortfolio letting you know your changes have been saved.
As with any changes to your ePortfolio, you will need to Publish any changes that you make through the Organizer in order for them to appear in the Published View of your ePortfolio. You can do this through the Organizer by clicking the Publish Changes button at the top of the page.
