New Digication Development Update - August 18th, 2017

Dear Community,

With August almost behind us, we have several updates to New Digication features that we wanted to announce in addition to providing an update to the Feature Release Timeline. Click here to read the original announcement made on 8/1/2017.

This month, We have been dedicating more resources on ensuring the stability of our system for the new semester and fixing known bugs, some of these bugs have been previously announced. Most importantly, the development for Accessibility and the Publish Pages feature is still on track for completion by the end of August.

Features with an Updated Release Date
It is unfortunate that we must delay the release date for several New Digication features listed below. We feel the additional time is needed to help us provide a stable release and ensure the quality you have come to expect from Digication.

  • LTI support for New Digication
  • Conversion tools for Digication Classic ePortfolios

We estimate that LTI support for New Digication will be available at the end of September and the Conversion tools available by mid-October. We understand the high priority this has for LTI schools and those waiting to upgrade their Classic ePortfolios. Our developers are hard at work on these features and as soon as we are ready, we will announce their availability to Administrators and provide relevant documentation. You can click here to review the updated release dates on the Feature Release Timeline.

Resolved Bugs
Ability to create New Digication ePortfolios is intermittent
Starting on August 16th, we received reports that some users had intermittent availability to create New Digication ePortfolios. Our developers have resolved this issue and everyone with access to New Digication should be able to create New Digication ePortfolios without issue.

We have also resolved the bugs listed below. You can click here to view the full list of resolved bugs on our Feature Release Timeline.

  • Library: ePortfolios created from Templates have multiple navigation headers
  • Library: ePortfolio icons do not always display properly
  • Library: Admins are unable to delete Templates from the Administration tools
  • Slide and module buttons can become unresponsive
  • New Digication ePortfolio directory icons do not always display properly
  • Navigation headers with multiple rows are not displayed properly

Upcoming Features and Changes
Listed below are the planned updates to the New Digication ePortfolio platform that will go live on Friday September 1st, 2017.

The Header slide cannot be set as an Instruction slide
The Header slide on all New Digication ePortfolios will no longer be able to be set as an Instruction slide. This change will be permanent because Instruction slides are not visible in your ePortfolio's Published view and the Header slide is required to navigate an ePortfolio. You can click here to read more about this change.

Publish Pages
As you make changes across multiple ePortfolio pages, you would normally have to publish each page individually. Starting on September 1st, you will have the option to select and publish multiple pages at the same time. You can click here to read more about this feature.

LTI support for New Digication
If your school or institution utilizes Digication with an LTI service such as Blackboard or Canvas, there are currently limited options to use New Digication ePortfolios from your LTI dashboard. Starting late September, there will be improved support options with New Digication ePortfolios for LTI services. You can click here to read more about this feature.

Additional Fonts for ePortfolios
On September 1st, there will be additional fonts for you to customize text in your ePortfolios.

We appreciate your patience and support as we make progress on the development of these features and look forward to making them available for you. As always, we welcome your feedback, questions and concerns!

Kind regards,
Your friends at Digication
