LMS Integration for Kora (LTI 1.3) - Brightspace Setup for Admins

Our Integrations team can assist you with adding the Digication LTI for Kora integration to your LMS.  Read more about LMS Integration for Kora.

Digication will provide the unique LTI application information needed to create your Digication integration in your LMS. If you need to obtain this information, contact Digication Support at support@digication.com

Once you have the LTI application information, follow the steps below to configure the integration in your Brightspace environment.

Step 1: Create the external tool

Brightspace will provide you with registration details in a popup window. Make sure to copy these details - you will need to send them to Digication to complete your integration configuration.

Step 2. Deploy the tool

  • Go to your Administration settings gear (1) and select “External Learning Tools” (2)

  • Then select “New Deployment” (3).

  • On the Deploy Tool page, select Digication Kora (4) from the Tool dropdown. 
  • Under Extensions, Check all three extensions: Assignment and Grade Services (5), Deep Linking (6), and Names and Roles Services (7).
  • Under Security Settings (8), check all of the boxes except Anonymous.
  • Under Configuration Settings, check “Open as External Resource” (9).
  • Leave Substitution Parameters (10) and Custom Parameters (11) blank. 
  • Under Add Org Units (12), select any courses that you’d like to have access to the Digication Kora LTI tool.

  • Click “Create Deployment” (13) to save this configuration.

  • Brightspace will provide you with a Deployment ID (14) in a popup window.

  • Make sure to copy these details - you will need to send them to Digication to complete your integration configuration. 
  • Click on the “View Links” in the pop-up window to complete the next step.

Step 3 Create an external learning link

  • Click on “View Links” (1).

  • You will be creating two links for your Digication Tool Deployment: Basic Launch and Deep Linking Quicklink.

Basic Launch

  • The Basic Launch link will allow you to place a Digication link in your course navigation or Content area. This connects students directly to the Digication course that is connected to your Brightspace course.
  • To create this link, select New Link (1).

  • Use the following information:
  • Leave Substitution Parameters (5) and Custom Parameters (6) blank. 
  • Click “Save and Close” (7) to save the link.

Deep Linking QuickLink

  • The Deep Linking content tool will allow you to create direct links to specific Digication assignments.
  • To create this link, select New Link (1).

Step 4: Share Configurations with Digication

The Digication integrations team will assist you with testing your integration and reviewing and confirming what fields will be mapped in the LTI for Kora integration. We will add and test the course navigation link and add and test the creation of an assessment in your Content area. Please have a course available for testing when you meet with Digication.
