Dear Digication Community,
In keeping with our commitment to providing a two-week notice in advance of any changes to our user interface, we wanted to let you know about the release of some upcoming new features that will occur on or after November 4, 2024.
- Gradebook Individual View
- LMS Connection Visibility
How does this new release benefit users?
Our new Gradebook Individual View feature, built on top of the existing Gradebook, will offer enhanced functionality by allowing both faculty members and students to access detailed individual views of their progress and performance. Faculty members will be able to access each student's individual details in one place. With this release, students will also be able to access their own Gradebook view, where they can view and manage their submissions, submit work, view assessments, and track their progress more effectively.
Our new LMS Connection Visibility feature is a UI improvement to quickly view and access LTI connection information for Digication users. With this new feature, admins will be able to see if a course is connected to an LMS directly from the Kora Admin Course List, saving time. Faculty members will also be able to view the LMS status on the Course page, which will provide important details for troubleshooting and support.
Gradebook Individual View
Faculty View
- Each student listed in the Gradebook grid view will be clickable, allowing faculty members to select a student and access their individual view.
- In the individual view, faculty can switch between students using a footer carousel or search and sort options to select the desired student.
- Faculty can view assignment details such as name, description, latest and previous submissions, assessment details, and course information.
- Faculty can open corresponding assessment panels directly from the Gradebook individual view.
- All filter and display options available in the Gradebook toolbar will also be usable in the individual view.
Student View
- Students can now access the Gradebook from the "View in Gradebook" option in the assignment details page, which will direct them to their individual view.
- Students can submit, resubmit, and add work for assignments directly from the individual view.
- Students can view assignment details such as name, description, latest and previous submissions, assessment details, and course information.
- All filter and display options available in the Gradebook toolbar will also be accessible to students in their individual view.
LMS Connection Visibility
For administrators, a new indicator icon will appear next to the course name on the Kora Admin Course List page for any courses that are connected to a Learning Management System. If a course has an active LTI connection, this icon will be displayed. Moreover, hovering over the icon will show a tooltip as "Course has LTI Connection." If no icon is shown, it indicates that there is no active connection.
For improved troubleshooting, the course's LMS connection status will also be available in the Course UI under the "View/Copy Course ID" option for faculty and administrators. Users will see a new field, "Your Learning Management System," showing the connection status.
Kind Regards,
Your Friends at Digication
