What Integrations Does My Organization Need?
Digication supports SSO, LTI, and CSV integrations, which can be used separately or together to manage users, courses, and data efficiently. Many organizations use all three for a seamless experience.
SSO (Single Sign-On)
SSO allows users to log in with their existing institutional credentials, eliminating the need for separate Digication passwords. Supported protocols include CAS, SAML, ADFS, and Google SSO. Our integrations team can assist with setup.
For more information on Single Sign-On, please visit our helpdesk under the Single Sign-On (SSO) section.
LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability)
LTI 1.3 integration connects Digication with your Learning Management System (LMS) (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, Sakai, etc.).
Key features include:
- Single sign-on from the LMS
- Auto-creation of users and courses (optional)
- LMS-to-Digication course roster sync
- Assignment linking & grade sync
- Sharing Kora course templates & ePortfolios
For more information on our LTI integrations, please visit our helpdesk under the LMS Integration section.
CSV Imports
CSV uploads, whether manual or automated, allow institutions to:
- Pre-create users, courses, and registrations
- Preload assignments and outcomes
- Manage and update user information such as role and metadata
- Let users access Digication without an LMS
For more information about CSV imports, please visit our helpdesk under the Import Data Using CSV section.
LTI vs. CSV: Key Differences
| Feature | LTI | CSV |
| User Creation | Automatic via initial LMS roster sync or user’s initial access | Manual or automated via periodic import |
| Course Creation | Individual courses linked via the instructor’s initial access | Bulk course creation via periodic import |
| Enrollment Updates | Automatic roster sync via instructor’s initial access or subsequent manual syncs | Manual or automated via periodic import |
LTI excels at real-time course and user provisioning within an LMS, while CSV offers more control over user access, preloading, and ongoing data management. They work best together, with CSV handling account updates (e.g., alumni status, roles) that LTI cannot.
SSO + LTI + CSV: How They Work Together
- SSO ensures seamless logins across platforms
- LTI enables on-demand course and user provisioning
- CSV updates user access, preloads courses, and updates metadata
