Welcome to New Digication!

Note: This announcement pertains to schools automatically upgraded to New Digication on 9/1/2018.

Dear Digication Community,

We are excited to welcome you to New Digication!  Starting today, system settings have been automatically upgraded to New Digication "Enabled and Enforced” for all schools.  As a reminder, this means:

  • New ePortfolios will no longer be created in Digication Classic
  • Digication Classic ePortfolios will still be viewable and editable, but no further development will occur in this version of the product; end users may upgrade existing Classic ePortfolios. Upgrade instructions are available on our help desk
  • Our Help Desk will transition to focus the support we provide as well as online documentation on New Digication

Thank you to all the project leaders, system administrators, faculty, and student mentors that have been guiding their school communities in embracing the changes. We feel so grateful for the amazing ePortfolio community we serve.

Example ePortfolios

Sharing example ePortfolios created in New Digication with your school community is recommended. The following ePortfolios are live, active, and public-facing. The authors of the ePortfolios have graciously granted us permission to share their work, so please enjoy perusing the ePortfolios and feel free to share them with others as examples of some of the possibilities of the platform. We have highlighted some for you here:

Student ePortfolio:

Michelle Maguire (University of Alaska-Anchorage)

https://alaska.digication.com/michelle-maguire-a363/homepage

Why we love Michelle’s ePortfolio:

Michelle’s use of a variety of visuals displayed via embedded videos and image galleries adds a richness to her ePortfolio. Presenting her ePortfolio as a museum exhibit entitled, “The Extraordinary Commonplace,” Michelle provides an informative and reflective “Curatorial Statement” that explains the connectivity among the visual attributes she includes in her space. In addition to the aesthetic visual appeal of Michelle’s ePortfolio, we love her creative use of navigation buttons to move viewers through the exhibit.

Faculty ePortfolio:

Nicole Kendrick (University of Puget Sound)

https://pugetsound.digication.com/nicole-claire-kendrick/home-1

Why we love Nicole’s ePortfolio:

Nicole Kendrick is the program manager and instructor for the Reflective Immersive Sophomore Experience (RISE) at the University of Puget Sound. Nicole welcomes her students with an ePortfolio that provides information about her own interests and relevant experiences, modeling the perfect blend of personal and professional discourse. In addition to serving as a guide for her students, who will be creating their own RISE ePortfolios, Nicole’s ePortfolio contains information and materials that the students will find useful as they engage in the program. We love the approach Nicole has taken with her ePortfolio and the images and narratives she shares.

Additional example ePortfolios can be found in the following Help Desk article.

We hope you find these resources helpful as you begin to use New Digication. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our support team at support@digication.com.

Kind regards,
Your friends at Digication
