Dear Digication Community,
Update: We have determined that the issue was due to a bug in our password reset script which was triggered on January 6th and caused a number of users at some schools to receive a password reset email that they had not personally requested. Security is our top priority and we are happy to report that there was no security breach or malicious attack involved. Our engineers have now resolved the bug that caused these emails to be sent so this will not occur again.
We are aware that a number of users at some schools are receiving password reset emails for their Digication accounts who did not request to have their passwords reset. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
We are very sorry for the concern and frustration that these emails have caused our users and will update this post with more information as it becomes available. The password reset emails were valid password reset emails, with a reset link that expired in 24 hours. Those emails can be safely ignored or deleted.
Kind regards,
Your friends at Digication
