Digication Kora, the new official style of Digication, is now available! We are excited to give schools the opportunity to use Digication Kora in advance of the system-wide launch on January 1st of 2020. While the core-functionality will remain the same, this update gives the following areas of the platform a look and feel that matches New Digication ePortfolios:
- The Dashboard
- Featured ePortfolios and ePortfolio Directory
- User Profile and User Directory
- The Login Screen
- Course Set-Up
We have created brand new documentation to assist Digication users and System Admins with the transition to the new system. Look for a Digication Kora category in the Student Guide, Faculty Guide, and Admin Guide on our Help Desk to find all relevant documentation. See our updated Quick Start Guide for Creating an ePortfolio for instructions on creating an ePortfolio in Digication Kora.
For each of the aforementioned areas of Digication, we have provided additional information below to introduce you to the changes and improvements involved in Digication Kora, in order to help you make a smooth transition to the new interface.
For schools using an LMS to access Digication: Your LTI Integration will be unaffected if you choose to enable Digication Kora.
Digication Dashboard
As the first stop when logging into the system, the Dashboard is an integral part of the Digication experience, and it is the area where you will notice the most improvements with the launch of Digication Kora.
While the previous Dashboard featured a customizable banner image at the top of the page, Digication Kora’s dashboard utilizes a full page background image, as well as a responsive logo, making for a visually striking page with greater possibilities for customization. See the following article for further information on updating your background image and logo: Uploading a System Background Image and Logo
Additional changes to the Dashboard include the presence of a new navigation menu on the left side of the screen, and improvements to the way your ePortfolios and Courses are displayed. For full details regarding these changes, please see the following article: Dashboard Overview
Featured ePortfolios
With Digication Kora, we have improved the way ePortfolios are prioritized for display on the login screen, the Dashboard, and in the ePortfolio directory. Additionally, system admins have greater control over which ePortfolios are displayed, and the thumbnails for each ePortfolio have been improved. For full information regarding these changes, please see the following article: Featured ePortfolios
Course Creation
In Digication Kora, we have improved the way courses are displayed on the Dashboard, and have improved the Course Creation process. See the following article for assistance with Course set-up in Digication Kora: Creating a Course. Please note: the internal structure of courses that students and faculty will interact with has not been affected.
User Directory and Profile
The People page in Digication Kora has an improved look. To see more results, you will simply click Show more at the bottom to display additional users. See the following article for more information regarding the People page: People
Another exciting development in Digication Kora is an improved interface for uploading a User Profile photo, which now includes the ability to access the camera of your computer or mobile device. If you choose to upload a public profile photo, it will now appear in additional places throughout Digication, including in the User Directory, the directory thumbnail for any ePortfolios you are associated with, and your navigation menu. For instructions on uploading a photo, see the following article: Updating Account Information
Logging In
One significant change that Digication Kora brings to the table is an improved login interface. While the previous dashboard included multiple different login configurations based on your school’s options for logging in, the new dashboard includes a single, standardized login interface that allows users to access all available login methods in one place.
See the following article for further information on the new Log In interface: Logging In.
