Digication Development Update - 11/2/19

Dear Digication Community,

We have some important news to share with you regarding two features of Digication ePortfolios:

• An upcoming name change involving ePortfolio Slides
• Reordering of Featured and Home Page ePortfolios

ePortfolio Slides Name Change

Since the release of New Digication, Slides have been the basic unit of organization within individual ePortfolio pages.  They contain all modules and content added to the ePortfolio, and allow users to create multiple sections within an ePortfolio page.

Beginning on January 1, 2020, we are changing the name from “Slides” to “Sections.”  

Anywhere that the term “Slide” is used in Digication, it will be replaced by the term “Section.”  

Why are we doing this?

We feel this is a more accurate label, and less likely to be confused with other elements of the Digication interface.  This does not involve any change in functionality, only a change in name.

We are announcing this well in advance so that schools can update their internal documentation if need be. Our own Help Desk documentation will be updated to reflect this change as well.   We will send an additional reminder announcement on December 20, 2019, two weeks before this change is made.

Reordering of Featured and Home Page ePortfolios

In Digication Kora, Administrators have the ability to feature specific ePortfolios on the Home page before logging in, and in the Featured ePortfolios section of the ePortfolio Directory.  In the coming days, we will be introducing the ability to change the order in which these Featured ePortfolios are displayed. Our documentation will be updated at the time of implementation to reflect this change.
