RESOLVED: Digication Errors September 16, 2020

Dear Digication Community,

UPDATE: We are happy to report that our engineers were able to resolve the issues that users were experiencing on September 16th, 2020.

Users were experiencing trouble viewing ePortfolios, and general system slowness and errors beginning at approximately 5:20pm Eastern time, September 16th. These issues were mitigated for all users at 10:15pm, and our engineers considered the situation fully-resolved at 1:30am.

The cause of the issue was due a database unexpectedly running low on memory, leaving it unable to provide caching operations efficiently. Our engineers doubled the server’s available memory resources, strengthened and streamlined some related operations, and added additional monitoring to prevent similar issues in the future.

We are very sorry for the frustration and difficulty caused for our community during this time and appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve the issues!
