Admin essentials

Version: Kora Permissions required: Administrator

This guide is for administrators who manage their organization's Digication system. Here is a walkthrough of the key areas to get familiar with early in your implementation.

The admin panel

The admin panel is where many of your system settings live. Digication's team works with you through setup, so you will not be figuring any of this out on your own.

Single sign-on (SSO)

If your organization uses an identity provider, SSO lets users log in with their existing credentials, and it can automate user provisioning through that same connection. Whether SSO is the right fit depends on your setup, and the Digication team can help figure out what makes sense for your organization.

LMS integration

Connecting your LMS to Digication gives students a seamless experience. They access Digication directly from their course in the LMS, without a separate login. When an instructor connects their LMS course to Digication, a companion Digication course is set up automatically. When work is assessed, grades can be synced back to the LMS gradebook. Setup is straightforward. The Digication team can usually get it done over email or with a brief online meeting.

User provisioning

This is how you get people into your system. You can add users one at a time manually, import them in bulk with a CSV file, or automate the process entirely with scheduled CSV uploads. If SSO or LMS integration is in place, provisioning can also happen through those connections automatically.

Licensing

This is where you manage your organization's plan and see how licenses are allocated. Understanding your current license state is the starting point for any decisions about scaling and for budget conversations down the road.

AI credits and course enablement

There are two things to configure here. AI access is enabled at the course level. You control whether all courses in your system can use AI assignments, or only specific ones you approve. Separately, AI credits are what students consume each time they interact with the assistant. You allocate credits to users in your system. Think through both settings before faculty start creating assignments. They are planning decisions as much as technical ones.

Verify your system

This is a request you submit from the admin panel. The Digication team reviews it and approves your system, which unlocks sign-up permissions and additional capabilities. It is a one-time step, worth doing early in your setup.

Branding

You can upload your organization's logo and set a background image for your system.

Users

The user directory is where you can search, view, and manage individual accounts across your system. If provisioning is handled through SSO or LMS integration, most accounts appear here automatically. It is also where you can make manual adjustments when needed.

Course management

If your LMS integration is configured, courses can be created from there automatically. You can also import courses in bulk with CSV, automate that process on a schedule, or create them one at a time through the admin panel.
