LMS Integration for Kora (LTI 1.3) - Blackboard Learn Setup for Admins

Version: Kora Courses, November 10, 2023 or later

The Digication integration team can assist you with adding the Digication LMS Integration for Kora (LTI 1.3) to your LMS.    Read more about LMS Integration for Kora (LTI 1.3) - Setup for Admins.

Digication will provide the unique LTI application information needed to create your Digication integration in your LMS. Please contact Digication Support at support@digication.com to generate all necessary LTI application information for your system.

Once you have the LTI application information, follow the steps below to configure the integration in your Blackboard Learn environment.

Step 1: Register the Digication LTI 1.3 tool

  • Log in to Blackboard as an administrator. From your dashboard, go to System Admin (1).

  • Click “Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool” (3).

  • Enter the Client ID (4) provided by Digication and click Submit (5) to create the tool.

Step 2: Create Placements

  • Locate the Digication tool (1) that you just created on the LTI Tool Providers list and click the dropdown arrow. 
  • Select “Manage Placements” (2).

You will create two placements for Digication: The Course Content Tool and the Deep Linking Content Tool. (If you are using custom parameters, you may need to create a Course Content Tool placement as well.)

Course Content Tool

  • The course tool will allow you to place a Digication link in the Build Content menu in your Content area. This connects students directly to the Digication course that is connected to your Blackboard course. 
  • To create this placement, choose the following options:
    • Choose your own Label (1) and Handle (2).
    • Choose “Course Content Tool” (3) under Type.
    • Check “Allows grading” (4) under Type.
    • Check “Launch in New Window” (5).
  • Under Tool Provider Information (6), enter https://lti.digication.com for the Target Link URI (7).

  • Click Submit (8) to save this placement.

Deep Linking Content Tool

  • The Deep Linking content tool will allow you to create direct links to specific Digication assignments.
  • To create this placement, choose the following options:
    • Choose your own Label (1) and Handle (2). We recommend Digication Assignment Link (3) for the Deep Linking content tool.
    • Choose “Deep Linking content Tool” (4) under Type.
    • Check “Allows student access” (5) under Type.
    • Check “Launch in New Window” (6).
    • Under Tool Provider Information (7), enter https://lti.digication.com for the Target Link URI (8).

  • Click Submit (9) to save this placement.

Once you’ve created these placements, please contact support@digication.com so we can work with you to complete the integration.

Step 3: Test and Confirm Field Mapping

The Digication integrations team will assist you with testing your integration and reviewing and confirming what fields will be mapped in the LTI for Kora integration. We will add and test the course navigation link, as well as the creation of an assessment in your Content area. Please have a course available for testing when you meet with Digication.
