Digication Development Update - 09/16/2024

Dear Digication Community,

This is a follow-up to the announcement made on 07/30/2024 regarding the Gradebook feature. We are excited to inform our users that we have released some additional improvements to the Gradebook feature as discussed in the original announcement. With this new release, Gradebook will now offer additional functionality to manage and assess outcome information. Apart from that, we have added some new filters and UI improvements to enhance the overall Gradebook experience. As these features were part of the original announcement made on 07/30/2024, they are available immediately.

How does this new release benefit users?

With these new enhancements, faculty members will be able to view and manage outcome assessments directly within the Gradebook. These new options will provide an overview of students' outcome assessments all in one place, eliminating the need to open and review each submission individually. Faculty will be able to score and add outcome assessments directly from the Gradebook with ease. Also, you will be able to apply filters to sort submissions based on different assessment categories such as faculty, self, or peer assessments, as well as outcome types.

Functionalities supported with the new release:

  • Ability to view outcome assessments directly under Gradebook cells for each student and each assignment.
  • Faculty will have the ability to add scores directly from the Gradebook by clicking on the "score here" option for submissions that haven’t been assessed yet.
  • Ability to click on an outcome assessment tag to see details such as the score given, the reviewer (faculty, self, or peer), and the average score if multiple assessments have been made.
  • Additional details about outcomes and rubrics can now be accessed by clicking the info icon for each outcome assessment.
  • Faculty can click on the outcome score to open a separate window showing additional details about the outcome assessment.
  • Additional outcomes will now be displayed with an easy-to-notice purple tag.
  • Outcomes with a score below the passing score will be easily identifiable with a red border around the cell.
  • A “Scrollable Cells” toggler has been added for easier navigation within Gradebook cells.

New filters and display settings added to the toolbar:

  • Filter by assessment type (faculty, self, peer assessments).
  • Filter by outcome type (required outcomes, additional outcomes added by students, peers, or faculty).
  • Show or hide required outcomes that do not have assessments.

The new outcome selection filter helps faculty to choose which outcomes they want to display in the Gradebook.

New display setting option to show or hide assessments by toggling the display on or off.

Kind Regards,
Your Friends at Digication
