Digication Development Update - 8/28/20

Dear Digication Community,

We are excited to let you know about a new feature: Digication Notifications

During the weekend beginning Friday, September 11, 2020, we will be rolling out Digication Notifications, a brand new tool which will streamline and centralize Digication related communications, from ePortfolio and assignment related notifications to system-wide announcements. With an interface similar to those found in popular web tools and social media platforms, users will find this a familiar and intuitive addition to the dashboard and should require no additional training to begin using it.

When launched, all Digication users will find a Notifications button on their dashboard menu. Selecting this button will expand the Notifications inbox.

Within the Notifications inbox, users will receive the following types of notifications, and will have the ability to customize by type whether notifications are received in the app or by email, as well as the frequency at which email notifications are received.

  • ePortfolio, Conversations, and template sharing notifications - Users will receive a notification when an ePortfolio or template is shared with them. All users who are involved in an active ePortfolio Conversations thread will receive a notification whenever a new comment is added to the conversation, which will make it easier for users to have active, constructive conversations around ePortfolio content.
  • Assignment based notifications - Instructors will be notified when a student submits work to an assignment. Students will be notified when their instructor has assessed or provided feedback on their submitted work.
  • System-wide announcements from administrators - Digication administrators will have the ability to send system-wide notifications specifically to students, alumni, and/or faculty through the administration dashboard. For instance, administrators could use Digication Notifications to inform users of the availability of a faculty development workshop and to share any relevant best practices.
  • Announcements from Digication Support - Digication Support will use notifications to keep users informed of upcoming system maintenance windows or changes to the system.

Full documentation will be available on the Digication Help Desk at the time of launch.

If you have any questions regarding this new feature, we encourage you to reach out to our team at support@digication.com.

Kind Regards,

Your Friends at Digication
