Students can be enrolled in a Digication course in different ways:
- Automatic enrollment using import files by administrators
- Through your institution’s LMS (such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle)
- Manual enrollment by faculty
- By joining the course yourself using the self-enrollment option
This article explains how to join a course using the self-enrollment option.
What is self-enrollment?
If the course settings allow, students can join a course on their own from their dashboard.
Self-enrollment helps students get started quickly and saves faculty time by removing the need to enroll each student manually one by one.
Access enrollable courses
- Scroll down to the “Join a course, assessment group or community” section on the dashboard. This section is visible to students only if there are courses available for self-enrollment.
- Click the “+ Join a course, assessment group or community” (1).
NOTE: If you don’t see this option and section, it means there are currently no courses, assessment groups, or communities available to join using self-enrollment. Only courses, groups, and communities that have been set up with self-enrollment will appear in this section.
- The Enrollable Courses page will open. Here, you will see only the courses that allow self-enrollment (2).
- Click on the course in which you want to enroll (3).
Enroll with a password
- A Password to enroll field (1) will appear if the course requires one.
- You will also see course details like name, start and end dates, and the course faculty (2).
- Enter the password in the field provided and click Enroll (3).
Enroll without a password
- The course preview will open, but there won’t be a password field (1).
- Click Enroll (2).
View enrolled course(s)
- Once you click Enroll, you will be taken to the course page (1), where you can view course assignment details (2), access your assignments (3), and add work (4).
- When you return to the dashboard, the course will show under My Courses & Groups (5).
NOTE: Once you enroll, the course no longer appears in the Enrollable Courses list, and if you try to open the same course link after enrolling, it will take you straight to the course page.
